 الأمل الموعود

في ساعات الصباح الأولى

من خلف نافذتي

ومع أشعة الشمس 

تشق طريقها

بهدوء وتؤدة

ترسم ملامح الصباح

على وجوههم

كالزهور المنتشية بالأريج

أرنو إليهم

أتابعهم بنظراتي

أبتسم لهم من بعيد

يلوحون بأيديهم

يتراكضون

يتسابقون

يعلو صياحهم وهم يتهامسون

أكاد أرى في عيونهم

بريق البراءة

والمستقبل المنشود

ليغرفوا العلم من مناهله 

أظهرهم مثقلة

بالكتب والكراريس

لا يبالون

يعلو الضجيج

تنتظم الصفوف

للوطن والمجد يهتفون

أطفالنا، ربيعنا المنشود

ذخرنا للمستقبل المنشود

شباب الغد

The Promised Hope

Dr. Mohamed Tawfiq Mamdouh Al-Rifai

In the early morning hours

Behind my window

And with the rays of the sun

It makes its way

Quietly and slowly

It draws the features of the morning

On their faces

Like flowers intoxicated with fragrance

I look at them

I follow them with my eyes

I smile at them from afar

They wave their hands

They run

They race

Their shouts rise as they whisper

I can almost see in their eyes

The sparkle of innocence

And the desired future

To draw knowledge from its fountains

Their backs are laden

With books and notebooks

They do not care

The noise rises

The ranks are arranged

For the homeland and glory they chant

Our children, our desired spring

Our reserve for the desired future

The youth of tomorrow

The Promised Hope
